Quick Tip: Posting To Instagram From Your Desktop

Why this is not a thing at this point is beyond me, but I don’t really “get” social media at all. I mean, I keep hearing about how it’s a necessity to a successful business, but I find it exhausting. So anything I can do to make engaging with social media easier is a must for me, and working from my desktop is high on that list.

So, on that note, here’s my tip!

For this to work, you need to be working in the Chrome web browser. (which is free and you can get by Googling it)

Step 1: Open Instagram.

Step 2: Click the three buttons on the top right of the browser to bring up the menu. From here you will click on “More Tools”, and then “Developer Tools”.

Step 3: You’ll notice at the top of the jumble of text and symbols that now appear on the right of the window, there’s a little icon indicating desktop/mobile. Click on that.

Step 4: Reload the page and you will then see a mobile presentation of the page. Your mouse should look like a little circle instead of an arrow, but should work the same. Add your photo and text as you normally would from you phone and post!

Step 5: Click on the desktop/mobile icon again to return to normal desktop presentation and reload the page. Instagram should return to how it normally looks on the desktop. Close the developer tools window, and viola!
